When I was little I read this book about a girl named Suzanne who would introduce herself as "Suzanne. Christened so. Not Susan putting on airs."

Every time I would say your name in my head in the last...how long have we been Internet friends? That long...I would think about Suzanne and Sharone and try to work it all out. I don't even really know why Suzanne came into it at all, but she did. I think she was one of the spunky blonde orphans who lived with her wealthy uncle and got into scrapes in one of the books my mom read in the 60s and then handed down to me. If that helps.

Anyway, Sharone-rhymes-with-trombone, thank you for clarifying. And also I won't call you that ever again because I believe it might become grating.

I am so glad you posted this. I've being saying it the right way in my head, but I started thinking "What if I'm saying it wrong? What if she's all, "Actually, it's just "Sharon" with an "e" at the end" and then I look like an idiot? A great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I almost typed "soldiers". Even in my exhausted state of mind, that is absurd.

I totally knew. I am awesome like that. Coincidentally, my name is also pronounced with the emphasis on the last syllable. As in, aiRIN.

Okay, just kidding. But when I was in junior high I always wanted to change the spelling of my name to Arynne Jeaux. Which has nothing to do with anything, but I'm kind of glad I didn't. Jeaux? Really? But doesn't Arynne look like the emphasis should be on the last syllable? That's what I thought.

My point is, junior high never really leaves us, even when we move several hundred miles away and get our braces off and grow out the bad perm.
