Things I have learned in the last few days:
- My iPhone headphones are washable! Not like I will be washing them all the time, they're plenty clean now after going through both wash and second rinse cycles.
- There is a reason my favorite cleaning product is called Barkeeper's Friend and not Eyeball's Friend. My stubborn eye tried to make friends anyway. Bad, bad eye.
- I love having people over at my house :D Like these people:

We all missed our callings in showbiz. Does the fact that I called it "showbiz" do it for you?
- I have a strange addiction to museums and libraries. One of my professors has a lot of archive connections in New York, including at the Louis Armstrong collection at CUNY-Queens (*cue choir of angels*), and I got really excited about planning a trip to visit them. But I forgot that I've been put on a museum/library limit for vacations. A trip of 5 days=1.5 museum days. For each extra museum day, I have to add 1.5 days of vacation. I figured out that to spend the minimum amount of time I would like visiting archives in New York, we would have to go for...well, so basically we'd have to move there.
- E. M. Forster is one of my new favorite authors, EVER. Well, I'm still on a sort of high from A Room with a View, which is so fantastic I want to read it again, right away :) I haven't read anything else he wrote, and maybe the high will wear off and I'll change my mind. But that is definitely the best book I've read in a long while. I'm going to be writing a review of it for the Classics Challenge (along with Bleak House, which I also finished), so I'll save the raving for then.
- Speaking of books? I could play the Goodreads never-ending trivia game forever. So I guess they picked a pretty good name for it.
- I distinctly do not enjoy going to work in the morning. I do, on the other hand, enjoy getting up, taking my time with a cup of tea or coffee, sending emails in my pajamas, reading, running, even doing laundry. Unfortunately, no one is paying me to do those things.
- Do you know, all those blog posts I promised you? They are mostly still in my head. They are partially written, but somehow I am having a hard time finishing them. It turns out having them in my head doesn't make them any easier to write down.
Well, those are all the life lessons that come immediately to mind (over the course of eight hours, that is). Oh, last thing! Huge congratulations to Veronica and M. for their fabulous showing in the Mud Run on Saturday! You guys rule! And seriously, Veronica, after reading your description of the event...I am IN. And I don't mean Indiana. Also, I am, just a little, doubting my sanity. But I'm in, nonetheless. I will have to practice my wall climbing (eek!) Read all about Veronica's big adventure here.
Toodles, off to exercise, plan a wedding shower, and read my life away. Reading books is some kind of equivalent of real life, right?
